Givenchy Fall/ Winter 2011 2012

Althought this wasnt my favorite collection from Givenchy lately(Im sorry to say this) as the shapes were a bit more mature, the concept of the prints blew me away. The fashion house was on point with the seasons hues (although i wish fashion would veer away from purple and green a little), using them to contrast junglelicious jaguar prints. Strong, seductive, in your face. Creative to say the least, this collection was more about covering the skin with visual stimulation than attract you with well though out cut outs (which im all for).

Many of the pieces were to die for (such as the see through chiffon blouses), however i would have paired them with younger bottoms. Overall I i like Ricardo's collections as always and I appreciate  his taste, now if could only afford his clothing!

Creators of Masterpieces

We are all the makers  and the destroyers of our own destiny. We are enthusiasts of personal creation. We get up every morning and either paint another landscape portrait or render a masterpiece (and yes im talking about clothes)

What is my design aesthetic?

People constantly tell me they get my design aesthetic. It must something i put in every garment i design unknowingly. I find that hard to swallow as internally i tend to purge my personal inspirational references however  there must be some traces left over if people say so. Personally i get bored of details fairly quickly and tend to look for something new (something most designers do, specially people like Karl Lagerfield) 

For example, when i made this Coat i had never worked with plaid, done draping on a skirt of a coat before and therefore to me felt completely fresh. Of course classmates swore this was so me. Is there something about what one present from the inner being that no matter how different represents the same soul? Is there such a thing as spiritual design or at least a metaphysical resonance that goes beyond fabric and thread? Am I that naive that i don't see this in my own work. Anyhow this picture makes me ask the question, Is wearing shorts with cowboy boots super gay?
